ABOUT ABOUT

Stormwater runoff impacts our streams and watersheds; it causes declines in water quality, streambank erosion, and flash floods; degrades fish habitat; and reduces groundwater recharge. Significant impairment of a waterway occurs when impervious surfaces (parking lots and rooftops) cover as little as 10% of the land.
This two day workshop is designed to provide an overview of new stormwater regulations and to discuss how sustainable design and low impact development can help municipal officials, professionals and property owners meet those regulations.
Penn State Cooperative Extension, Environment Erie, PA Sea Grant, the Villanova Urban Stormwater Partnership, and the USDA Forest Service are working together to provide this training for municipal officials, engineers, and others involved in managing stormwater and protecting water quality.

This will be a 2 day event in which the first day is held at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center and the second day will be spent in the field! Offering professional certificates and units for those professionals looking to fulfill certain requirements. Contact Environment Erie for more information. 835.8069
